How does your subscription work?

Where does your produce come from?

Our produce is proudly 100% Irish with no imports. We work with a variety of small-scale farmers across the country. Included with your Seasonal Box is a newsletter with information, announcements, top tips, and detailed information about each item in your box, which farm it grew on, and the methods used to grow it. You can also view a list of our farmers on the Our Farmers page.

Can I customise my box?

As of January, 2022, you can now create a custom box or choose one of our four Seasonal Boxes including the Farmer, Garden, Essentials, and Harvest Box. Simply add any Fresh Produce, Pantry, Fridge, or Bakery items to your cart and checkout as a one-time order or add them as a subscription for a weekly or bi-weekly recurring delivery!

Where do you deliver?

We now deliver nationwide. Check out our full list of our delivery days and order schedules here

Is your produce organic?

Harvest Day is a certified organic retailer with the Irish Organic Association. Our produce is a mix of certified organic, organic conversion, and naturally-grown with no chemicals or sprays. We work with small-scale farmers who practice no-spray, chemical free, sustainable farming practices. This means our produce is always chemical free, and mostly organic, but a few of our farmers have not chosen to apply for certification.

What days do you deliver?

We deliver vegetable boxes every Thursday and Friday, depending on your delivery area. For customers receiving deliveries from our local logistics partners within Dublin, Kildare, and Wicklow, your delivery will arrive between 3-8pm on your delivery day. You will receive an SMS text message from the local logistics team around lunchtime on your delivery day with an updated delivery window.

Our nationwide deliveries are couriered through DPD and take place between 8am and 6pm. You will receive an email the day before your delivery and an SMS the morning of your delivery with a 2-hour time window of when the box will arrive. You can see our delivery schedules by location here

What do I do with the empty boxes?

We now operate a Box Return Scheme for all customers. For customers in Dublin, Kildare, and Wicklow who receive deliveries from our local logistics partners, please flat pack your box and leave it out for the delivery driver on your next delivery date. The driver will pick it up and return it to our facility to be reused or recycled.

For nationwide delivery customers serviced by DPD, we must book a collection with DPD. We ask customers to get in contact with us once they have five boxes accumulated and we will arrange for DPD to come and collect the empty boxes 24 hours later. For customers who do not have space to store the five boxes, we ask you to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate a more frequent collection.

Do I need to be there to take delivery of my box?

Our vegetable boxes are sealed so they can be left outside for a short period of time. If you are concerned about your box being left alone, please reach out to us with a preferred time window for delivery. If you are unable to be home for the delivery window, we will work with you to find the best way to deliver your box and ensure it is left in a secure location.

Why do orders close on Tuesday for delivery on Thursday/Friday?

We close orders on Tuesday morning because we run a zero-stock business model to reduce food waste, maintain a more sustainable supply chain, and provide the freshest possible produce to our customers. Tuesday morning after orders close, we communicate with farmers to order exactly what we need instead of keeping surplus stock that can go bad and result in food waste. Between orders closing and your delivery, your produce is harvested, collected, sorted, packaged, and shipped. To read more about the order cycle model, read our blog post on Why Your Box Isn't Arriving Tomorrow

What are exclusions and how do they work?

We now offer an Exclusions option for all customers receiving a Seasonal Box. If there are veg items you never want to receive, simply list them (up to three items) in the notes section when you place your order. These items will be removed from your box and will be replaced with an equivalent item that is in-season and available.

How can I see previous weeks' recipe cards?

Every week, we include three recipes in our Seasonal Boxes in the form of recipe cards to help inspire our customers to use all the veg in their boxes so none goes to waste. In addition to the physical recipe cards, we publish these recipes to our Seasonal Recipes blog so customers can revisit previous weeks' recipes. You can also sort through our Seasonal Recipes page by Season or by Product (ex. Potato, Kale, Wild Garlic) to find recipes matching what you have to hand.

What precautions are you taking with COVID-19?

We have developed a no-contact procedure for your vegetable box delivery. Our drivers will call to notify you when they are near your home and will ring your doorbell to alert you once they arrive for the delivery. We will place your vegetable box at your door or at the pre-defined delivery location and then step back two meters. We will not enter your house or apartment complex. When delivering to apartments, we kindly ask that you meet the delivery driver at the ground floor so our drivers avoid any unnecessary handling of access doors, elevators/lifts, etc.
